Depressing as usual. What were everyone's thoughts while watching it?

I know I am very biased, but I really thought Bush looked dumber then ever. He was fumbling, stuttering, and he kept saying the same damn things! Even though I don't like Kerry, I really think he did an excellent job- he pointed out a bunch of huge failures on Bush's part, he seemed knowledgable, friendly, and strong (he stood up straight unlike Bush). It felt like Bush dodged questions alot more then Kerry did too. I forget the exact numbers, but I think Bush mentioned flipflopping 11 times and Kerry mentioned vietnam 3 times. Also -my favorite part- the first thing Bush said (besides thank you to Jim Lehrer and the school and floridians) was "September 11th..." when the question really didn't have much to do with 9/11 (I don't think Kerry mentioned it the whole debate). Also want to point out how Kerry hammered home that Osama is missing and it is Bush's fault, and every time this was brought up Bush ignored it (once he did say "I know sada- I mean osama is a threat" or something like that. it's the first time he's mentioned osama publicly in what, almost a year? I read an article that in general people think Bush lost the debate. What do other people thinK?

I didn't see the whole thing, but I thought Kerry did a very good job. He had the authority and made Bush look like an idiot. But he didn't make Bush look like as much of an idiot as I hoped he would.

I tried to come into this very unbiased despite it all.
Both canidates greatly exceeded my expectations. Bush more so that Kerry. Kerry always was an articulate person but Bush really surprised me by using big words (nuclear 5 times in one sentence!) and never once saying flip flopper. His word mistakes were minimal too.
I was happy that Kerry really tried to make a point that he did not have the information he does now when voting on the war. I do think he probably should have said that a little more though to really make it clear that he is nto a "flip flopper" he just has views that he will not set in stone so he's not bound by his words when he tries to make good decisions...At least that's how I see it.
Both canidates however said the same things over and over again, nothing new in any of the answers, just the same regurgitated BS that presidents are known for. Kerry I think won in the aspect because he had the articulation to actually give the apperence that he was saying something different.
Well those are the most unbiased thoughts on the debate that I could muster. I think Bush sadly came out on top overall when talkng to people and Kerry really should lay off the botox.

speaking of debates, the next presidential debate is tomorrow night, remember. Also, did anybody see the vice presidential debate? What did you think? Cheney surprised me and I thought it was pretty even.

oh holy hell, this last debate was just pathetic. bush just went around in circles, he totally avoided answering the questions, because he was too busy trying to make an ass out of kerry. aren't they there to discuss their views on issues, not to bash each other? *not that i would have minded seeing kerry throw the smack down on bush* ;D

Silly debate speculation I'm not sure the exact address but there is an entire website devoted to what that strange looking box shape under Bush's jacket between his shoulders was. Some were speculating that he was wired to recieve answers from his advisors. photo: isbushwired.com/sequence5.jpgwww.infoshop.org/inews/stories.php?story=04/10/09/7865399A little silly? I think so. But read it nonetheless. And you've gotta admit. It is wierd looking. Love and peglegs, Capt'NLaura

yeah there is lots and lots of speculation about that, and it seems convincing. the main problem i have with it is that the technology is so advanced, he would be able to get that transmitter thing into his pocket. the excuse i have heard for it is body armor, because apparently he wears protection everywhere he goes (I didn't know that.. don't you think he should have to wear like, an astronaut helmet to protect his head... you know, incase he falls of his segway, bike, or chokes on another pretzel?) The debate last night seemed the most even to me, but both CBS and ABC (the two major stations with polls) put Kerry as the winner, one by over 10% and the other by 2%, but the one with 2% polled many more Republicans than Democrats, so that says something interesting too.
