ahoy mates. i got to thinking today, and i decided that it would be SUPER BITCHIN if we could organize and "end of summer/beginning of school" Pirate Pool Party! I'd love to volunteer my house, although it is out of the way (Sharon) it accessable by the commuter rail. So, what does everybody think? I could even call my friends' band (they rock, man. they also have a history of doing parties) to play. check them out if you have the time. www.izro.tk -word

I am definitely all for a Pirate Pool Party (alliteration?!) DanArrr! Thanks so much for volenteering your house. What could be more pirate-y then good company and sailing the seven seas (or the one sea...in a pool)!?
What date would this be? I figure we should set a date relatively soon if this is going to happen (which would rock my pirate-striped socks off). Perhaps the last week of August? Also maybe we could combine my idea of a benefit show (with less planning and less high-tech) and have some bands (Pirates and friends of Pirates) play if they so desire. Dan, would there be a place to plug in amps and such and are your neighbors/parents cool with that?
Love and revolution, CaptainLaura
(ps: Three Cheers for Dan Arrr for offering his house!)

you know what? i hadn't thought of the amp thing... i suppose there are a great deal of outlets all around my house and stuff that we can use for a concert in my backyard. i definetly think my neighbors wouldn't mind...

Laura asked me to say (after I mentioned this to her) that the benefit show should be seperate because it is mean to charge people to get into dan's house and the pool party is just fun and music. so yes bands, no benefit (well yes benefit, but the PPP won't be one). Izro and Aria Warp and maybe (if we would be so lucky) 7 inch Revolution and Evan Greer would be awesome to have. And maybe Eating Mr. Anderson. Maybe Condom Pocket or MLP. Yay for friends' bands.

speaking as the drummer of Aria Warp, I am delighted to announce that we will be gracing the Pirate Pool Party with our musical presence, our first show outside of my bedroom.
also... may the location of the pirate pool party be publicly posted along with general directions (from whatever the biggest road is, or the nearest train stop)? Thanks Pirate DanArrr Also we are looking into Pirates with cars (or with willing parents) to help carpool to this event. please post if ye has car space available, need ride, etc. I will post which train I will be riding if people want to join (though I am going early to help setup etc).
We should also have people volunteering to bring food.

Also I propose that this next week each of us starts PHONE CHAINS! In other words, call up your pirates friends and make sure they'll be at the PPP! Ask them to bring food, help them get rides, give them directions etc. I will start calling those Pirates who I have their numbers and if all of you could do that hopefully we can hit many of the main Pirate members and remind them. BANDS: What about a sound system Dan Arrr? Where will bands plug in and do people need mikes/transportation for drums/amps/heavymusicstuff? I guess we can leave this up to the bands themselves but if we don't want any of you musicians left without equipment (if you need something and don't light things on fire too often, not all of us can be Hendrix, perhaps my dad can lend some sound equipment) so the bands should double check their needs. Also I believe I will be recording the preformances. FOOD: I'm not too handy in the kitchen but I'd be willing to bring some (nonvegan, sorry) cookies and some snack-ey chip-type food.
Sailing the seven seas, CaptainLaura

Awesome. My (cell) phone number is 401 440 1288 for the phone chain. I'll be there. I'll try and bring some snack and chip style foods but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. I might be taking the train. But if Dan ARRR wants to jam with me and my friend Steph and whoever else for the PPP, I will probably need a car because I love my amp and the cab itself weight 80lbs and the head probably about 20 more.
Pirate Dan ARRR was saying something about making a treasure hunt map where his house is the treasure (a piratey map where X marks the spot). I don't know the details on that, but ask Pirate Dan ARRRR I guess.

Since we seem to have a vague consensus (from those who have spoken) on doing some planning at the PPP I think we definitely should. So....
Next meeting: AT THE PIRATE POOL PARTY! Bring topics to discuss, I know Squashbuckler Eric and I had a long discussion last night about Pirate plans so I can fill you all in at the meeting and get your ideas (please! involvment is always nice) and in the newest (more interesting I promise) newlsetter I'm drafting.

Pirate DanArrr, can I use your drumset for the pool party? If not, Izro, may I use yours? It would be very very very difficult to get my set there. Thanks. Also, Izro, is there anything else you are willing to share (microphones maybe)? unhoy

There is a small possibility that if my friend Steph comes to jam with us then we can use her brother's drum set which is really really nice if she drives there as opposed to taking the train. But I can't promise anything

a message from Pirate DanArrr who forgot his password: The pirate pool party is Saturday, August 28th, from 2 pm til around 7 pm. No rain date has been scheduled yet. The address: The Raskin Household 55 Huntington Ave. Sharon, MA Parents Peter and Chris can be reached (though the family is gone from this Sunday til the 26th) at 781-784-9175. Directions from the train (The stop name is Sharon.. you can reach it from Back Bay or South Station www.mbta.com ): you get off the train and go up the stairs on the bridge and take a RIGHT and then you'll get to a large four way intersection you'll have to cross to the opposite side of the interesection so you're on the RIGHT side of NORTH MAIN STREET, which is on the left and then you continue down north main street for a while until you get to Hunting Ave which'll be on your right and it's the very very last house on huntington on the right (a dead end street) and is "grayish weirdish next to a yellow house" it takes 15 minutes to walk Also, please bring food. Since we will be enjoying free music and a pool party, it would be very helpful is pirates could bring food like salad, pasta (rather than soda and chips). If each group of people coming brought at least one thing we would be well off. Thanks! Also, Eric would like to add that all homemade desserts (or desserts at all) are so very very welcome. Also please remember that some pirates are vegetarians (and some vegan i believe) so please exclude meat when possible. Leave the turkey icecream at home.

to theswashbuckler,
I am singer/keyboard player for Izro, the only thing that I own that we use for the show is my keyboard. I can't speak for anyone else at the moment, maybe Chris (the drummer) will share drums. The bass player's dad owns all the mics and the PA and stuff, don't know he he'd feel about it either. I'll try to get their opinion on that and get back to you as soon as physically possible. I don't see why they'd say no, but, again, I don't want to speak for them.
