What do people think fo having movie nights? There are lots of good movies we should see, particularly political ones (though we could watch things like Pirates of the Carribean for fun). Also, I have this vague idea for making a movie about Pirates Against Bush. It would show footage from the DNC (the only video of us we have), interview members of pirates, and maybe we could take the camera to rallies and whatever we do (benefit show, pool party, etc). Captain Laura has a great little digital camera and she can take the footage and put it into DVD format. We could have a little Pirates documentary. Maybe we could use raised money to make copies and we could distribute it as promotional, plus we can just make copies for ourselves and to show our parents what we're doing (in a, look I'm productive! way not a report to their authority way).
thoughts? (note: I'm more set on the first one because it's easier and it would be more beneficial)

I bet we could show the PAB movie at Assembly at CSW if it is made. I like that idea.

so we have footage on Captain Laura's camera of the DNC, the surveillance camera theater, and soon to be banner drops. I have some footage of the Pirates Pool Party on my camera, but this is a totally different kind of film. I don't know how to do this, but maybe we could also put photographs in the movie, like from the DNC, banner making, and other things I have digital pictures of. Is anyone interested in working on this? on the topic of movie nights, I put a bunch of piratey and political movies on my netflix thing. I already saw a movie on the Weather Underground and one called The Party's Over (about DNC and RNC 2000) that I think we should see, and I have movies about Vietnam and the like on the way.

This upcoming Wednesday, December 23, "We Interrupt This Empire" will be shown for free at the Lucy Parsons Center on Columbus Ave. in South Boston at 7 pm. This movie is being shown because I requested it. THe movie is about how antiwar demonstrations effectively shut down San Fransisco for days on end just before the war in Iraq started. I encourage and invite everyone to join me there. www.lucyparsons.org
