since the day after election day thing, we (meaning pirates as a group) havn't done anything. is this group just sort of going to die?? which i think would be a shame. so here's my question: what should pab do now? personally, with the boston activist scene as it is right now, i personally would rather work more with other groups (mainly anarchist) that are willing to do more direct action. and in general, at larger protests, i'd rather be with the anarchists. and at this point, flyering or dropping banners about why bush sucks just doesn't feel terribly productive. that said, the main use i see for pirates against bush is anti-war banner drops, and other issue specific things. what do you guys think??

i also agree with what Ben said, and this is kind of what we talked about at our meeting. One suggestion I have is that we hold discussions and movie nights and teach ins when possible. one thing I really think we should do is make a zine about "how to do a banner drop". I also think we should open up to subjects that aren't explicitity about Bush, but are related. I feel like we need to have a meeting with more people than the last one to really talk about this though, and I don't think online is sufficient. Are people around during this vacation? Captain Laura and I were talking about having a meeting then.

Though movie nights are cool, it's kind of hard not to end up 'preaching to the choir' with those. But I guess it can raise more awareness on a higher level for those of us (like me) that aren't super aware of everything political and stuff that's happening in the world.

well i mean our goal wouldn't have to be recruiting new people. it is fine (and necessary) to preach to the choir sometimes (though you are right, more reaching out needs to be done). on the other hand, these sort of movies may not be mindblowing or anything, but even the ones I thought I would know everything about (like Outfoxed or Unprecedented) are still veyr informative, and if we branched out to things that weren't directly about Bush, there are definitely things that people wouldn't know yet. For example, Tuesday I saw a power point presentation by a Colombian union organizer, and even though I know about the situation there (somewhat) it was still extremely informative and interesting. also discussion is much better than movies.
